Every life philosophy has a set of guidelines or first principles. Jar The Ground (JTG) is no different. Except that JTG has only five simple guiding principles. I use these principles to guide my life and the things I write about. I am available to speak about Jar The Ground and these fundamental tenets in detail.
The Big Five
The five ideals I have found to have helped me most in my life.
- Every day is new
- Embrace change and challenges
- Live like you have one life
- Make success personal
- Give back
The Simple Explanation
This is short and to the point, but for a detailed and personal introduction to JTG you can always have me speak to your organization. Also, each section title is a link to a detailed i have written on that Jar The Ground tenet.
Every Day is New
As the old saying goes: “This is the first day of the rest of your life.” Living in the past, with regret, looking back at what could have been, does not help. Allowing yourself to have a new beginning each day facilitates everything from forgiveness to new ideas.
Embrace Change and Challenges
Change is certain. There will always be challenges, learn to perceive them as neither good nor bad. Without challenges and change our lives would be boring and stagnant.
Live Like You Have One Life
Because you do.
Make Success Personal
Cultivate your own personal definition of success. The only definition that matters is your own. Not your parent’s, your teacher’s, society’s. Follow your own dreams not another’s. Life is too short to live any life but your own.
Give Back
By lending a hand to others we can each improve the lot for all of us as a whole. Giving a smile costs you nothing and it could make a person’s day. Even when low and beaten down, you WILL feel better after helping someone less fortunate. It keeps you humble.
